Random 411: Gift giving season

It’s that time of the year . . .

Ah, the gift giving season. If you’re like me, you tend to contemplate on the perfect gift up until the week of Christmas when you scramble to get a gift card.

Sound about right? I know it describes my gift giving pretty accurately.

Though that wasn’t always the case. Seems like the past 3-4 years it’s been this way. But it hasn’t always.

Well, since I’m now on funds, I decided to put together some cross-stitching projects. Have you heard of cross-stitching? It’s in the needlepoint/embroidery section of crafting. And if you know me, I’m not very well at sitting down, trying to come up with something creative.

Oh, I can do crafty things, with a set of instructions on how to them just not the mind-wondering-just-throw-something together.

But cross-stitching seems different. And sort of up my ally since with cross-stitching you have a pattern to follow and, if you really think about it, it’s more or less a puzzle. Those I love.

So, armed with cross stitching patters, I’m not starting my gift-giving the week of Christmas (though the jury is still out on wether I’m actually going to be ahead of schedule) and planning ahead.

I’m curious to see what this gift-giving season will be like. Will I get through it unscathed? Well prepared to the youngsters? Be the cool Aunt?

We shall see. We shall see!

Hope your projects aren’t too big or you’ll be cross stitching all night on Christmas Eve! I still have an uninifhished cross stitch stocking I started 15 years ago. I might have to dig that project out again!
