NaBloPoMo: The Halfway Point

NaBloPoMo 2017
Here we are, The Halfway Point

How have you been doing? Are you still keeping pace? Have you discovered anything different? Anything new?

I must say, I’m proud of myself. So far I did a daily post for 14 out of the 15 days. The perfectionist in me is cringing at that missed day, but this is the first year I’ve actually been keeping up. Not only that, it’s the first time in a while that I’ve been motivated to actually post something for the day. That’s a huge success story in my book. I have this thing where I

I have this thing where I end up not posting anything because I want to make it perfect and before I know it, a week has passed before I post anything at all. Don’t get me wrong. I do believe having quality content is important, but if the main goal is to stay in touch with writing and you’re only posting two or three posts a month, something’s not working.

**  Enter NaBloPoMo  **

Which is why I love NaBloPoMo. It provides motivation. It’s like, if I won’t write for me, I’ll write for NaBloPoMo. It helps me get engaged with my blog.

It’s like what Blissful Lemon says:

“If you are having trouble staying motivated with your blog, National Blog Posting Month, or NaBloPoMo for short, may be just what you need to jumpstart your motivation.”

(If you haven’t checked out Blissful Lemon, I highly suggest you do. It’s a wonderful blog and I’ve added it to my reading line-up. And while you’re there, visit Blissful Lemon’s NaBloPoMo 2017 Link-Up page for other great blogs!)

The motivation to post something daily has me thinking differently. This month I’ve thought “What can I share today?” instead of thinking “what the heck I’m going to post?” or “dang it! I need to think up a review.” It’s not a chore as much, which it really should never be (but that happens to us from time-to-time, right? We’re human after all. The last i checked anyway :P).

The Home Stretch

There are fifteen more days in this month. Can I do it? Can you do it? That’s just fifteen more posts.

When I break it down so I don’t freak myself out, that’s just fifteen more posts. Only fifteen. And I’m happy to say that it doesn’t feel overwhelming. We’re having fun! I’m having fun!

And so much more that can be done in fifteen days. After all, we have Thanksgiving which can take up at least three posts. And then the holiday shopping. Which can easily be three more posts.

And look at that, we’re down to nine.
