TV 411: Three new shows (Fall 2017)

I’ve got to say, it’s been a nice holiday. Nine days off from work. Admittedly, I didn’t do anything I wanted to do on my holiday, aside from giving my studies some much-needed attention, but I was able to check out three new television shows.

Young Sheldon

Creators: Chuck Lorre & Steven Molaro

First up, Young Sheldon. Actually catching some episodes before my holiday, I’m looking forward to seeing how this will be received this season. I find it very entertaining, especially if you’re a Big Bang Theory fan but even if you’re not I think you’d enjoy it. It’s interesting to see how Sheldon Cooper’s childhood was like. With Big Bang Theory in its eleventh season, there is a lot of material this show could cover.

Favorite episode so far (3 watched episodes): Ep. 3 “Poker, Faith, and Eggs”

9JKL

Creators: Dana Klein & Mark Feuerstein

9JKL stars Mark Feuerstein (front) in a family comedy inspired by his real life. Josh Roberts (Feuerstein) is a new divorcé and actor between projects who moves home to New York to regroup, living in an apartment sandwiched between his doting, meddlesome parents (Elliott Gould, far left, and Linda Lavin, second from left) on one side and his competitive brother (David Walton), sister-in-law (Liza Lapira) and their new baby on the other. This fall, 9JKL will be broadcast Mondays (9:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT). After football ends, as of Oct. 30 9JKL will shift to (9:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network. As I mentioned in my currently watching post, I was expecting hilarity and I’m happy to say I wasn’t disappointed. It’s funny, entertaining, and has a lot of potential. I have to admit, it was a bit cruder than what I’m used to, but it evened out a bit. I am a little skeptical on how well this will take on a prime time spot, but I hope they do well. I’m not sure where that skepticism is coming from, but I hope it has no merit. Favorite episode so far:

Favorite episode so far (6 watched episodes): Ep. 5 “The Key to Life”

Me, Myself, and I

Creator: Dan Kopelman

Out of the three new players on my television roster, I am most surprised by this one and most anxious to see it go far. I know I was apprehensive about the multi-story format (if that’s what it’s called, or is it multi-time?), but 6 episodes into it I love how it works. The series writing is awesome! I also think it’s a bold move for prime time, but I’m hoping it’s around for a while.

Favorite episode so far (6 watched episodes): Ep. 3 “The Card”

So these three are definitely in my line up. I’m not sure how far I’ll go with juggling them with my current line up (still have to catch up on Supernatural and The Librarians–at the least), but I’m still adding them. Not to mention,  a couple of more shows that I wouldn’t mind taking a peek at as well, but I’m going to press the pause button on those for now. Here’s to the 2017 Fall season line up!

Me, Myself and I sounds like my cuppa tea! I’ve started watching Modern Family and it is totally addictive The humour is absolutely brilliant, every second of it. Once I’ve finished the serieseses, I will start watching it all over again – and I’ve never done that with any other series. Thank for the heads-up.
