A very interesting phenomena has been happening for the most of the week.
It all started with the holiday …
It was Monday, Presidents Day, and in honor of this holiday I didn’t have to work. Lucky me. I had it all planned. I’d stay up late on Sunday holding a Gilmore Girls marathon. I did myself proud. Ended up watching until 2 am. I had planned my “sleep in” beautifully.
Except I woke up, wide awake at 4:58 am. Wide. Awake. Unbelievable.
I wasn’t tired the rest of the day either. I couldn’t believe it. Not to mention my allergies were on full attack with all the vog we’ve been having.
So, then I decided to sleep, on Monday, at 10p except that didn’t work out. I ended up staying up until midnight. I was cool with that. Midnight isn’t too bad when I don’t have to be at work until 8a.
Except I woke up at 5! Yep, 5 am. Again. And again I was wide awake. And again I didn’t feel tired the rest of the day. Allergies aside the day was productive.
Two days in a row isn’t too bad, except it happened the rest of the week! Yep, for five days straight I’ve been waking up around 5am. For no reason other than I couldn’t sleep any more.
I have no idea why my body felt charged enough to wake me up, unnecessarily, at five in the morning. The only common element seems to be my allergies. With the vogginess and all the wind kicking up dust, the past two weeks have been brutal. Even with all the sneeze attacks, the hurt ribs, the watery and itchy eyes I still got up at 5. Unbelievable.
What a random phenomena! However, I hope it stops soon. As much as I love having an extra hour or two added to my day, getting up at 5am isn’t fun. Not one bit.
