S2x13 – “Pittura Infamante”
Okay, so I’m a couple of episodes behind in Sleepy Hollow, but there’s been a few other life happenings that’s keeping me from TV. But, I did see the Hanged Man episode.
I have to admit, when Katrina mentioned the Hanged Man I was seriously excited to see that maybe, just for kicks and something different from the whole Moloch storyline, they were going to do a Tarot-themed episode. The Hanged Man was a nice angle. I loved the idea of them using it’s power as a gateway of sorts. Even if it was to free a captured serial killer.
Imagine my disappointment, just a wee bit, when I realized it wasn’t a tarot themed episode just an episode using the Hanged Man card as a gateway of sorts. And maybe I’m down playing the significance, but after reading Kresley Cole’s Arcana Chronicles series, I really wanted to see it on the screen. And that’s all on me. I know that. So I’m not faulting the writers for over looking the fact that they missed the other 21 cards 😛 .
But …
It was nice, for a change, to see the focus shift from Moloch to something different, even if it was for a little bit. And I was surprised to see the return of Captain Irving and interested to see what this means for the Horseman of War. I mean, I thought Jeremy’s demise was a nice way for him to go. I mean, we all hoped he would have a change of heart … and he did! I hope they don’t mess that happily ever after by bringing him back, still a double-crosser (although that would be a very interesting storyline, if not overdone, depending on how they do it).
So, this far into Season 2, here’s what I still hope to see:
- Another Horseman! I mean, we’ve been working with only two horseman out of the four and while I get introducing them only when needed to keep the show going, give us a hint. At the very least a sniff of another Horseman.
- Katrina’s usefulness in #TeamWitnesses – I mean, she doesn’t seem to be very helpful save distraction. I mean, Jenny and Hawley has been more of an ally than she ever has. I’m starting to wane as a fan of hers, if I’ve already not subconsciously moved her to my blacklist.
- More allies! Yes, I want more allies for #TeamWitnesses. I mean, we may have possibly lost Frank Irving, jury’s still out on that one. Katrina doesn’t seem any better. Hawley is more of a “stand-by” which leaves only Jenny. I feel they need another ally.
And even though I’m on the bandwagon who believes Season 1 had more appeal, I’m curious to see where this show will take us. They lore and legend behind Sleepy Hollow is too much to ignore and while they’ve had some bumps along the road this season, I feel they’re almost to the point that we can settle and make peace with the plot line.
Home stretch, Sleep Hollow. Let’s do this!
