February 1, 2015
Dear 2015,
So, we’ve known each other for a month now, and wow was January busy for us, huh? New job responsibilities, new books, new movies, new year. Hit the ground running is what we did.
I’ve read two anticipated reads, Dead of Winter by Kresley Cole and Burned by Karen Marie Moning. I can’t believe I have to wait for the next book in those series. Gosh, this is why I don’t like starting series. And even though I tell myself book series suck mid-series, I still can’t help but get involved with them. *shakes my head*. Well, I have Shelia Connolly’s next book in the Cork County Mysteries, An Early Wake, to look forward to this month, release date February 3rd! Squee! Not to mention the next book in that manga series I tried out late last year, Say I Love You #6. Plus, I have that book preview by Ginger Scott, Wild Reckless, that I decided to check out. It’s good be helping authors out again. I miss that. I stopped because of school commitments and while I haven’t gotten any less busy, I think I’ve gotten to the point where I can manage homework and fun-work 😉 . We’ll see.
As far as movies go, I’m looking forward to Jupiter Ascending. Seventh Son premieres this month too. Oh, and Kingsman: The Secret Service. I can’t wait to see those. I’ve also added a few other movies to my watch list as recommendations from some of the movie blogs I follow. I’ll be spotlighting them this month as well.
Did you see? I’m trying out an editorial calendar. I know! Shocker! But it’s helping me to focus my thoughts a bit, but I always leave room for randomness. After all, I am a writer. We can’t confine ourselves to box, you know?
There’s also a challenge for this month. I know, right? Busy much? It’s a Month of Letters so I’m making it a point to mail at least one letter/postcard a day this month. And I’m learning both Irish and Italian. Why? Well, that’s a whole other letter.
Well, 2015, I hope things are going well for you. It’s a good start to this new journey, don’t you think? We’re doing well.
Here’s to February,
