No one can blog without tools and definitely not an info junkie such as myself. Thank you to John Saddington for the inspiration! (He’s got a colophon, which is what made me think about doing one)
The No. 1 Tool:
My MacBook Pro.
I would seriously be lost without it, since its main use is for school, but since it comes with me almost everywhere it’s my preferred tool to draft my blog posts.
411 Junkie is hosted on 1and1.com. I’ve used them before settling into blogging and they were a pretty good deal for me so, naturally, I sought them out when I was ready to take blogging to the next level (with its own domain of course).
I use WordPress self-hosting and use the following plugins:
- Askimet Anti-Spam
- Broken Link Checker
- Custom Login Page Customizer
- Easy Google Fonts
- Meta Box
- Shortcodes Unlimited
- Social Media Widget
- Ultimate Book Blogger (by Nose Graze)
- Wordfence Security
- WP Media Category Management
- WP Super Cache
- Yoast SEO
I am using the Duplicity theme by Nose Graze.
Social media is a beast all of its own. 411 Junkie is Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Google+.
I just upgraded my phone from an iPhone 6 to the iPhone 8. Not by choice, per se (the battery on my iPhone 6 was on the fritz), but there you have it. I have 114 apps. OMG, that’s a lot of apps but I’ll be going through this, hopefully in the next week or two. Of the 114 apps, here are the ones I depend on to help me keep up with my blog:
And the fun stuff I use to enhance it:
I keep a Midori Passport notebook with me so I can log notes, ideas, etc. on a fly. I call it my CAN (Catchit-All-Notebook, which is a tool I picked up from Brook Noel’s Make Today Matter program).
I also keep a notebook dedicated to 411 Junkie ideas. It’s a brainstorm, think tank, pensieve for this blogger.
