Hello October!

I cannot believe it. We are just under twelve weeks until Christmas Eve. TWELVE WEEKS! Where has the time gone?

I have to say, though, I feel so much better and just hope allergies and any common cold will stay away just for a spell so I can pull things together. Just for a bit.

We’re heading into the final quarter of 2017. Three months from now we will be into 2018. 2018! Jeepers, I can’t believe that. And with autumn aon week two, I’m feeling happy. It’s no secret fall has always been my favorite season and we’ve already had some autumn showers.

So, let’s make these last three months in 2017 count. I will try my darnest to get it together.

Happy October!!

Entertainment 411: Happy Dance!

Because Autumn is here!

It’s my favorite season. I’m not quite sure why it’s my favorite exactly, since I live in an area where you can’t really see autumn, like with changing of the colors and everything.

Maybe it’s because of Halloween. Except I never was a big fan of Halloween until recently.

Maybe because I consider it an in-between. You know, there is summer and then winter and in between you have spring and fall.

I think it’s because the air is a bit cooler and it rains a bit more than normal.

Whatever the reason, I love Autumn and it. is. here. The first day of Autumn.

And a new season means new releases! Here are some releases I’m really looking forward to.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (premieres September)

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (premieres October – this!)

Inferno (premieres October – and this!)

Dr. Strange (premieres November)

Fantastical Beasts and Where to Find Them (premieres November – and definitely this!)

There are any books and/or authors on my watch list that comes out this autumn, but I’m playing catch up on others due to my impromptu break.

There are some interesting reads that spark my interest, but I’m still on the fence about:

The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye (released May 2016)

Swear on this Live by Renee Carlino (released August 2016)

The Graces by Laure Eve (released September 2016) – actually this is firmly on my list

Timekeeper by Tara Sim (to be released November 2016)

In addition to the shows I am currently following, these piqued my interest this fall.

Designated Survivor (premieres September 2016)

Van Helsing (premiers September 2016)

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life (debuts November 2016)

Top 5: Rain

It’s been raining all day today.mthe first in the season that it’s rained all day. And it wasn’t heavy rain, more of a constant drizzle. I had to use an umbrella to walk to my lunch spot and my shoes got soaked. I love it!

I love rain. I always get excited when it comes. People think I’m weird because I live in a state where people travel to get sand and sun, but not me.

Top Five reasons to love rain:

  1. You get to use an umbrella! – Seriously though, when do you get the chance to use an umbrella? When it rains, you get to break out that umbrella you’ve been dying to use since you got it on sale at the start of summer.
  2. You get to use your rain boots! – These pair of shoes just sits in the closet for most of the year, but when it rains? There where they need to be. They won’t start a fashion trend, like, ever, but they’re so much fun to wear. And …
  3. You get to jump in puddles! – And you don’t have to be obvious about because you really don’t want to act like you’re five but with rain, you can do it quietly and smile at your inner child.
  4. You get cold! – I don’t like to be hot. Especially in Hawaii because the humidity just isn’t fun. You not only sweat, but you get sticky. And … well, I don’t like being hot. With rain? You get cold. You can get all cozy by wrapping yourself up in a nice sweater or under those brand new quilts. I love being cold. It’s harder to cool yourself off when you’re hot versus making yourself warm.
  5. And my last reason to love rain? It’s so soothing. There’s something calming about rain. The sound rain makes is so rhythmic that it’s ambient noise to put you to sleep. The idea of Mother Nature making the air clean is always a refreshing, and welcoming thought.

Writing 411: It’s NOVEMBER!!

Yay! November, I have missed you! I’m so glad to see you.

So, as you may have guessed, November is kind of a big deal with me. I just love what it stands for. It means autumn is well under way. It means a change in season. It means a reflection of the year this far. It means … happiness. Can you tell it’s my favorite season? At least for me. A tad bit corny, maybe, but that does mean it isn’t true 😉 .

Things have been busy. I wrapped up last semester last Friday and this semester break I had a convention to attend. But, November also signifies something else … National Blog Posting Month, or NaBloPoMo for short.

Last year I attempted to post everyday and I think I posted a little more than half of those days so I’m going to try it again. I’ll see if I can find a 30-day challenge or something, but I’m definitely going for it this year.

Wish me luck!

On that note, may your November have more ups than downs, more laughter than sadness, and more good crazy than chaos!

Here’s to November!
