The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.
I appreciate this quote. Like really appreciate it. I am naturally curious. I always have been (in fact, according to my Meyer-Briggs personality I’m a INTP and listed in my key words is curious so, there you go). It’s not uncommon for me to be chastise for asking too many questions or for not leaving things be or for not just doing what I’m told and there have been times were I’ve felt guilty for being this way, for being curious. There have been times where I feel weird. And then this quote comes along. While there are exceptions, especially when things are taken to the extreme, this quote brought a smile to my face because it’s the truth. There are times when being bored simply cannot be ignored, but, when I think about it, I find that I’m rarely bored. I’ll read. And not just stories, but I’lll read magazine articles, blog posts, newspaper spotlights on things that interest me. The beauty of curiosity? Everything is interesting.
So, you want a cure for boredom. Be curious. Simple as that.
