It’s that time. National Blog Post Moth time. And while I am three days late to post something on the topic, this is a better track record last year.
So, I first discovered NaBloPoMo mid-year last year while I was trying to figure out ways to improve my writing and my blog. When November came around I decided to give it a shot. After all, doesn’t it take 30 days for a habit to stick? Or something like that. So I figured, if I can post daily for 30 days, I’ll be able to make writing a habit.
Well, my first attempt at it and I did 18 out of 30 posts. That’s more than half so while I wasn’t a completely success, I wasn’t a failure either.
And now we’re on to year two. I’m determined to make it way past 30 days, but you have to start somewhere right? And nothing beats motivation like participation so if National Writing Month is all month and I participate by writing at least one blog post daily, I’m already halfway there.
Here’s to all you writers out there. May you finish that chapter, or that novel, or start on that new book idea. May your haikus have all the right syllables, your poems have all the right rhymes (or not), and your words capture your imagination.
Writing is an art, a skill, an escape. Happy Writing!
