January 1, 2015
You don’t know me just yet, but it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance! I enjoyed your company today.
I wanted to go ahead and officially introduce myself since we’ll be spending the next 365 days–well, 364 days now–together. I’m an information junkie and as an information junkie I like many things, but I most enjoy reading, writing, music of all kinds, movie-watching, tv-watching, and going to watch some theatre every now and then. I also enjoy doing family history, writing letters (which is why I decided to write to you 😉 ), learning about history, cross-stitching, and spending time with family, friends, and acquaintances.
With that in mind, I hope that you enjoy those things too. I hope we’ll be able to read a few good books together. I mean Kresley Cole will be releasing Dead of Winter in a few days, which I really can’t wait. And then Karen Marie Moning will be releasing the next chapter in her Fever series, which I’m excited for as well. And then there’s the next book in that manga series I’m trying out and Shelia Connolly’s next book in the Cork County Mysteries, An Early Wake. Gosh, and I hope Karen Cantwell releases the next Ghostly Romance book this year and also hope I’ll see another Magical Curses Mysteries book as well. And let’s not forget some newbies. The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows looks interesting and so does Becky Wallace’s new series The Keepers’ Chronicles. But seeing they’re new series, I don’t know if I want to start them, you know?
And don’t get me started on movies! I sure hope you like them because I have a feeling we’ll be heading to the movie theatre more than once. Firstly, there’s Disney’s Inside Out that I want to go see. Oh, and Pan. Oh, gosh, and Dreamwork’s Home if only to show support for Jim Parson’s first time doing character voicing (well, that I know of). But that’s just animation/CG! I really want to see BlackHat, since it speaks to the computer geek in me. Then there’s Jupiter Ascending, The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Terminator: Genisys, The Hunger Games: MockingJay pt 2, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and so much more.
So as far as books and movies go, it seems as if it’s going to be a busy year for us, 2015. And of course I’ll be writing more letters, sending more post cards, mapping out my genealogy research, and continuing with school. On Monday I’ll start Western Civilization since the Thirty Year’s War. Awesomeness!
Between all that, let’s have a lot of laughs, meet some new people, spend time with old friends, say lots of “I love yous” to family, and be sure to rock out this new year.
I have a feeling we’ll become best buds! I’m sure we’ll have our challenges and hardships, but with everything I mentioned above we’ll be sure to have more good times than bad.
So, here’s to us, 2015. I look forward to getting to know you. I wish you all the best on this long journey ahead. Let’s make all 365 days worth our while!
